Bio:

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1954, for the past 21 years Ernest has owned Object Design, Inc., a graphic design / print firm in Doylestown, PA. In the 17 years prior (ending in 1999), Erno owned Lavaco Industries, Inc., an industrial design firm in Ivyland, PA. While Lavaco worked in wide ranging industries, Erno specialized in ergonomics and office furniture design, working with many very highly regarded, prominent industrial designers, including David Rowland and Niels Diffrient.

 

Before his industrial design career, from 1976 to 1982, Erno began his graphic design career creating advertisements in the Philadelphia Inquirer and several other local publications. He then became Art Director for State Products Corp., a national automotive parts distributor.

 

During his entire graphic design and industrial design careers (and really, his entire life), Erno has had the desire, and found the time, to create fine art… mostly serigraphs, silkscreens, handmade paper sculptures and woodworking, providing pieces at a modest rate, as business obligations would allow, to private collectors.

 

Finally, having retired from the two entrepreneurial businesses he has owned, Erno is pursuing his fine art spirit as a sculptor. Happily.
